Seoul City Sue
My radio feature Seoul City Sue goes to air this week.
The woman kneeling is the one identified as Seoul City Sue … probably.
How did a Methodist missionary from Middle America end up broadcasting propaganda for North Korea? During the early months of the Korean War a woman dubbed ‘Seoul City Sue’ did just that. Who was she? How did she become radicalised? Seoul City Sue is my quest to track down this shadowy figure—a quest that takes me from Korea to the archives of the Seamen’s Union of Australia to Oklahoma and into the realm of the imagination.
