Mrs Petrov’s Shoe published by Playlab
Mrs Petrov’s Shoe was first produced by Melbourne’s Theatre@risk in 2006, and won the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award Drama Script (Stage) the same year. In 2009 it was part of the New Theatre (Sydney) New Directions program, wonderfully directed by Mackenzie Steel. Since then it’s had a number of productions by university theatre/performance departments. And it’s just been published by Playlab. Details here.
Although the play can be done by a cast of 5 (with multiple doubling and video) as it was in Chris Bendle’s ingenious 2006 production, it has a lot of characters, more female roles than male, so works really well when a large cast script is required.
