The City Lorikeets
The City Lorikeets was Runner-up in the 2009 Wildcare Tasmania Nature Writing Prize. It was published in Island 118, Spring 2009. The editor asked me to change the final paragraph and bring the piece back to where it began. Although I did revise as requested, I still prefer my original paragraph, which moved on and out into new terrain.
