At the 2019 NT Writers’ Festival
Next week I’ll be busy at the 2019 NT Writers’ Festival in Alice Springs. As well as leading a workshop (Riffing With Language) I’m part of the Playwrights’ Night at the Totem Theatre along with local writer Declan Furber Gillick. I’m also part of another evening event the following night: Performing the Essay, and on Saturday afternoon at the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens I’m part of a panel titled Restoring and Re-storying the Literary Landscape. This time I’ll be swapping my playwright’s hat for the hybrid-y terrain of The Book of Thistles to discuss with fellow panellists ‘voices muted and stories lost. Writing that returns to the records to probe the silences, goes over old ground to glean the overlooked.’
The Festival has an interesting, wonderfully diverse program, details here, and I’m really looking forward to this, my first visit to Alice Springs.
